The new Big Local Office in Hasland
We are pleased the new 'The Hub @ the Club' will be opened for community usage, following redevelopment work that offers partitioning of the large hall into a range of spaces to accommodate different groups at affordable rates.
Grassmoor has a brand-new Pavilion. The facility is for everybody in the community to enjoy, including those playing sports in Barnes Park, community groups and youth clubs, as well as for you to hire for private events and parties.
The Pavilion has changing facilities, toilets and a large room equipped with tables and chairs in the centre, which can be used for meetings, activities and social events.
It is the ideal place for health and wellbeing activities; social clubs and support groups to meet. Why not club together and use the space for a social event, or to host a play session for young children over the summer holidays?
The cost of hiring the room is £15 per hour but concessions are available for charities and groups funded by the Big Local.
We are in the process of developing a website for the Pavilion but first we need your help deciding on a logo. Please take a look at options and give us your feedback here https://survey.zohopublic.eu/zs/tXB8cL

After much hard work by those involved in Grassland Hasmoor...Big Local, I am delighted to announce as the Chair that we have 2 fantastic new facilities ready to open. In Grassmoor, a brand new, purpose built, Community Pavilion has just been completed.
This project led by Grassmoor Parish Council, and assisted by the local Cricket and Football Clubs, will provide much needed community space for local groups and residents, for activities, events and family occasions, eg parties and celebrations, and a great asset for Barnes Park and the sporting fraternity. In Hasland, the Working Mens Club, Grassland Hasmoor Futures and the Friends of Hasland Hub have come together to redevelop the Club to become Hasland's Community Hub, aptly named 'The Hub @ The Club'. Again, this will create a great community space for local groups and organisations. Both projects have been funded by Grassland Hasmoor...Big Local, through the National Lottery, totalling over £325,000 of investment. In addition to these funds, both projects have been successful in accessing other grants worth in the region of £275,000, which is an amazing achievement for all those involved, and a testimony to a great deal of patience, perseverance and passion. Well done to everyone!

We have already spoken to many people in Grassmoor and Hasland to find out their priorities and are keen to continue to engage and include as many people as possible in the Partnership, working groups and local events and activities.
The Grassland Hasmoor....Big Local Partnership has developed and funded a range of projects, activities and events across both Hasland and Grassmoor since the start of the Big Local programme. It has worked through local Topic-based Working Groups, focused around the agreed priorities of Children & Young People, Green & Open Spaces, Senior Citizens, Built Environment and Community Development, which have driven the programme forward. Some Working Groups have delivered activities themselves, some have enabled local community groups to deliver the work, and when required, some Working Groups have commissioned expert delivery partners, such as Valley CiDS.

Following the excellent work of Links CVS and North East Derbyshire District Council, the Grassland Hasmoor....Big Local Partnership decided to set up its own Locally Trusted Organisation (LTO). Primarily, this would be a legal body that would receive funds from the Local Trust and manage the distribution of grants on behalf of the Grassland Hasmoor....Big Local Partnership. However, it also felt that this new body should also play a vital role in the community renewal of Hasland and Grassmoor, becoming a 'go-to' local regeneration agency that would be a key element of Grassland Hasmoor...Big Local's Succession Plan and ensure a long-term, sustainable impact.
In 2019 Grassland Hasmoor Futures was formed as a Company Limited by Guarantee, and was approved as the LTO by the Local Trust in March 2020. As well as successfully taking up the duties and responsibilities of an LTO, it was commissioned to deliver a number of projects for the Grassland Hasmoor...Big Local, such as the Community Support Service, employing staff and running a small grants programme. The Charity Commission awarded it charitable status in November 2020
